While small, this makes a great boot drive. It is both fast and backward compatible with SATA 3.0GB/s, and bumps your Windows 7 HD score to 7.4 on a 7.9 scale even without 6.0GB/s available. It works amazingly well in concert with my 2 TB external, using that for mobile storage and this for booting in 37 secs or less.

Received my Crucial m4 in a box, not an envelope. Plugged it in, installed windows (in about 15 minutes, which was awesome!) and everything is running smoothly now. I've got about 20gb left after putting windows, some program files, and 3 games on here which run extremely fast. The boot speed is extremely noticeable, I love it.

I purchased this hard drive a few months ago. I installed it into a HP dv9650us laptop with Windows 7 64bit, which is fairly old now and the speed increase was dramatic. Boot times have dramatically decreased, application loading is much quicker, even internet browsing is much quicker. The drive essentially feels like a new laptop and I'm very impressed by this drive. The slowest point of the computer is now the CPU which is normal with SSD upgrades.

I have had no issues in regards to blue screening, freezes or crashes. This is my 4th Crucial SSD and they have been flawless thus far for me, just make sure the settings are adjusted for Windows 7.

I strongly recommend this drive, they are very quick and stable.

I also upgraded the bios from 0001 to 0002 with absolutely no problems, this will fix issues with Intel LPM.

For those who are not technologically inclined, this is the fastest upgrade you can do for your laptop.
