Do you enjoy going high on a ladder, and having your chest, shoulders and nose right up against the wall you are painting? Or the board you are nailing? Neither do I! This standoff allows me to be a comfortable distance from the wall. That's in addition to the other benefits -- letting me reach WAY out to the side; straddling a window.
This is the accessory you'll use the most.

Why am I not surprised? I wasn't certain I would absolutely need this accessory, but it sure has come in handy. This device has extended my range of operation and gives me more room to paint wall surfaces "under" the ladder. It is very sturdy, like all Little Giant products.
Obviously you've got to install it while the ladder is on the ground, and I've found that I can put it on while the ladder is in the A-frame position - then I just straighten the ladder into the extension position and place it as necessary. I've got to admit that my 22' ladder plus this wing span/wall standoff accessory is a heavy sucker to move around, but it's manageable.

I think I added safety when I use this on my ladder, but I mainly purchased the wall standoff in order to get farther out from the house & overhang to make it safer and easier to clean my gutters. I think 'I did good'.

A simple accessory that creates easy access to all work areas (especially when painting), and simultaneously provides ample space to "keep it neat". Who says, "work is not fun"? Maybe not, but this accessory makes my painting life a bit more enjoyable!

This Wall Standoff can only be used as Wall Standoff. I was planning to use it also as a Roof Standoff. But it doesn't work. The mounting angle was not flexible by design. they should design it better so it could be used for roof too. All they need to provide is a mounting piece for a different mounting angle.
