As a science teacher, I am on the lookout for toys that do not prescribe thinking (tell the child what to do). Rather, I want to encourage creativity and problem solving. These giant 'tinker toys' fit the bill. They can be anything your child dreams up! And, adults like them, too. ;)

We love this toy because our kids come back to it again and again. Other toys seemed flashier, but they were all put aside after 15 minutes. This one is perfect for the "rainy day" when you child says, "I'm bored." I love that it gets them active and using their creativity!

great toy for kids of all ages. my 3 to 9 year old were playing with it. it comes with 4 panels and i wish that 2 of them were wider to fit the longer pieces. also, i know my kids, and i might have to purchase more pieces.

I am not sure I want to go there but this fort making kit is certain to be a huge hit in my house, I just don't know if I'll ever be able to put it way. So far, we've used cardboard boxes (like everyone else), a giant blanket hung over furniture (again, not original and not too sturdy either) and of course actual tents (great but not awesome like this thing!). There are other playhouse/fort making kits but this one seems like it has the most creative options and is very easy to adapt and construct. It comes with all the pieces you'll need and the possibilities are truly endless. Now I just need a bigger house! You can take this outdoors but definitely take it back inside to keep it from moisture and mildew!
